How Our AI Analysis Works
VitalScan Pro uses a multi-stage pipeline to go from a raw lab report to a clear, structured explanation. Here's exactly how it works:
Document Ingestion
You upload a PDF or photo of your blood test. Our system accepts any standard lab format from US and European providers. Both digital PDFs and phone camera photos are supported.
AI Vision Extraction (Primary)
Google's Gemini 2.5 Flash model reads the document using native vision capabilities. This preserves table structure, handles handwritten annotations, and extracts every biomarker value with high accuracy.
OCR Fallback
If the primary AI model cannot read the document (e.g., severely blurred images), our system falls back to Google Cloud Vision's document text detection for optical character recognition.
Structured Extraction & Comparison
The AI parses every marker value and its unit, then compares each against established clinical reference ranges. Values are flagged as normal, low, or high. Both US and European measurement units are supported.
Plain-Language Report Generation
Finally, the AI generates a clear summary explaining what each biomarker means for your health — in everyday language, without medical jargon. The entire process takes under 30 seconds.
